I am an avid book reader. I prefer to read books by Indian authors or books set in India. I am also very interested in the Hindu religion/philosophy, so I do quite a bit of reading in that area. I also enjoy attending my local Hindu temple. It is so beautiful there, and the people are so gracious. They also serve delicious food. It is served with such love it is a joy to partake. I also am a real armchair traveller, so travel literature is a real favorite . I have also become a practising Buddhist, so I do a tremendous amount of studying, which I love. I enjoy going to my local Buddhist temple for study and meditation. Just to walk into the shrine room and see the beautiful serene statue of Buddha is very calming. I am also attending Yoga classes regularly, which I enjoy very much.I am also trying to improve my meditation.

Yoga School Dropout by Lucy Edge

I have just finished this lovely book. Lucy travels to India on a spiritual quest. She is determined to return home as a "Yoga Goddess"However, things do not turn out quite as Lucy had hoped. She moves from ashram to ashram forever searching. She meets a variety of funny and interesting people along the way. The Guru's she met however did not seem to hold the elusive recipe for which she is searching. I especially liked her views on her interaction with the locals. Especially the "upside downing".
This was a really funny entertaining book to read. I was sorry when it ended.

It's nice to have a good and interesting book recommended. We're all searching and it's nice to go along with someone else and maybe find a clue or two about our own path. Thanks!

You're a sweetie, Sylvia, thanks! I'll check the library first or ask my mom to send it to me from India, if neither option works I will request you to mail it to me. Thanks!

Thank you for your visit. I can see we are on a similar path. Btw, have you read Darjeeling by Bharti Kirchner? It's a fun novel about an Indian family, their tea estate in Darjeeling and the affects of tea and culture on the two sisters. It's not filled with deep philosophy, but a good read.
